So what are chatbots?

Post by Aklima@411 »

Chatbots can be powered either by artificial intelligence or by basic scripts entered into a programming language. As the name suggests, chatbots are computer programs designed to “chat” with humans.

Think of them as avatars or virtual representatives of your institution. Chatbots were originally commonly used on digital messaging tools. Today, they are truly used everywhere.

While the idea of allowing bots to interact with humans isn’t new, what has changed is the way chatbots are being used to augment and automate business flows and processes. In some cases, you’re interacting with a chatbot online, in others, you’re literally chatting with a physical device.

How do chatbots work?
To break it down, there are actually two main taiwan phone numbers types of chatbots: Simple and Intelligent.

Simple chatbots work with specific programming inputs and rules. These rules are defined by the developer with key outcomes depending on the scenario. For example, a student can ask “What are the admission fees for 2021” and the developer can create a written response to that question.

However, if the chatbot doesn't have a response, its scripts may need to be updated. Simple chatbots are relatively easy to program and deploy, but updating scripts can be time-consuming.

Smart chatbots are a whole different breed as they are powered by AI and NLP, meaning they get smarter, or more intelligent, with time and experience. They don’t require any predefined inputs or rules. Instead, they use pre-trained models.

Additionally, every incoming question and answer is recorded in their algorithms and stored for later use. So updates don't take as long.
