If a driver has not been able to use the tachograph, he must justify his activity with this certificate. The European Commission itself indicated in a Note that the certificate of activities for transporters will be used when it is impossible to make the registration in the tachograph.
Those drivers who have a tachograph cannot be required to provide this certificate, although it is true that it will be sufficient proof if the data on the other device is missing.
The certificate of activities for carriers is not mandatory
The activity certificate serves only to justify those “times” that the tachograph has not been able to record:
If the driver has been in a situation of temporary disability.
To justify the holidays .
If you have been on leave or rest .
After having driven a vehicle exempt from carrying a tachograph .
If you have performed work other than driving .
Subject to availability .
Like the tachograph, the activity certificate must be carried in the vehicle if it records the activities of the current day or the previous 28 days. If it is torn or damaged, it loses validity. After 28 days, it must be kept for at least one year , and be available for possible inspections.
How to obtain the certificate of activities for transporters?
On the Ministry of Transport website you can download the model of the certificate dentist database that you have to fill out, as well as the European information notes and all the information relating to said certificate.
This document must be filled out by typewriter , not in pen. It must be signed by both the company and the driver . If you are a self-employed driver, you must sign both sections.
This procedure can be managed through the website as well as other procedures such as requesting an appointment for the DNI or with the SEPE.
The certificate is the same for all countries governed by Regulation EC 561/2006. It must be completed in compliance with certain requirements:
Signature of the driver and the company, they must also be original signatures.
Must be signed before travel.
A photocopy is not valid; the original certificate must be carried.
Handwritten annotations and changes to standard text are not permitted.
For the document to be valid, it must be filled out completely.
