A private profile is not helpful in your promotion. First of all, convert it to public. Otherwise, only friends will see your reels. These videos will not be recommended.
Use hashtags
Hashtags in reels are used for different purposes: to get featured (trending hashtags), to categorize reels, to increase brand awareness (branded hashtags).

Hashtags in reels
TikTok has a separate tab with popular hashtags. Instagram shop doesn't have this. There are several ways to search for trending hashtags for reels on Instagram on your computer or smartphone.
Use general hashtags that contain the words reels, instagram, рилс: #reels, #reelsinstagram, #reelsviral, #reelstrending, #reelsofinstagram, #reelsvideos . In Russian, these are #рилс, #рилсы, #рилсинстаграмм, but there aren't many videos on them yet (no more than 1000). If you use Russian hashtags first, you can gain additional subscribers due to low competition. You'll find hashtags in the recommendations (the "Magnifying glass" icon) in the tags section. There you'll also see how many times the hashtag has been used.
Look at videos that are already in recommendations and take hashtags from there . This way you will find real popular hashtags for recommendations.
Important: all your hashtags should be tailored to your target audience. Don't just blindly use the first trending hashtags you come across. For example, if you sell clothes, don't use the #celebrity hashtag because you saw it in the recommended ones. The exception is if the celebrity was spotted wearing clothes from your collection.
Make announcements
When posting a new reels, add an announcement to the feed or share it in stories. The principle is the same as the IGTV announcement. It will be visible in the feed of subscribers, stories or in the blogger's profile, allowing you to go to the video. Thanks to the announcement, you will gain views from subscribers and Instagram users who have visited your page. The more interactions with the video, the higher the likelihood that Reels will be included in the recommendations.
Create enticing covers
The more interesting the cover, the more views Reels will get. Covers are visible in the profile (Reels section) and in the regular recommendations section. The cover can be either a video clip or a picture uploaded from a smartphone.
Shoot viral reels
Viral videos instantly spread across all social networks. People happily share them and actively comment on them. Seeing this, algorithms begin promoting videos that are interesting to the Instagram audience.
Shoot specifically for reels
As soon as Reels appeared, most users started re-uploading content from TikTok. But since the reels format was introduced to Instagram as a competitor to TikTok, the algorithms simply do not promote such videos. Like all other videos with watermarks. Therefore, we recommend creating new videos through the Reels editor. Uploading from a smartphone is also acceptable (without other people's logos). But no one forbids you to take ideas for videos from TikTok.
