PHMSA Updated Test Summary Brochure

Post by Joyzfsdsk322 »

For more than 50 years, our engagement with emergency responders around the world has been the engine that drives our success, and we continue to be the leading source of 24/7 call center support and information during hazardous materials incidents.

Our goal is to always be the best resource for emergency responders, so we want investor database to hear from responders about what we do best, what we could improve, and what additional resources we could provide that would be beneficial. Through the CHEMTREC® Emergency Responder Survey, we will be able to continue to enhance our services and features to best support all first responders during a hazardous event.

The survey will be open from March 1 - November 1, 2022. All responses are anonymous. We ask that you only complete the survey once; however, other members of your department may complete the survey to provide their individual input.

If you have any questions regarding the survey or if you encounter an error while completing the survey, please contact me Erica Bernstein, Director of Outreach at

Thank you for serving, for doing a job that puts others first, and for being heroes in the community. We appreciate the willingness of each respondent to complete the survey.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has updated its Lithium Battery Testing Summary Brochure . This document can be used as a compliance assistance tool to help manufacturers and distributors understand and implement the testing summary requirement.

There is no set form or format for a lithium battery test summary, but it must include all the required elements, which are highlighted below:

This helpful brochure also provides test summary templates, as well as helpful questions and answers related to this standard.

To ease the burden of complying with this complex regulation, CHEMTREC created CRITÉAR® , a document management system for lithium battery test summaries. CRITÉAR helps companies centralize, organize, access, and distribute lithium battery test summaries as outlined by UN 38.3.

As the industry's longest-serving emergency response information provider, CHEMTREC's value-added services provide powerful protection for your company, resulting in reduced costs, risk, and liability.
