Architecture and interior design firm Ronald Lu & Partners has announced the completion of the first phase of the Tianhui TODTOWN project.
The first phase of China's transit-oriented project has been successfully completed after 13 years of preparation.
Specifically, this initiative promotes linkedin database sustainability, community and mobility in Shanghai, China. The project follows the trend of Transit Oriented Development (TOD).
The OVACEN news portal highlights some urban design principles that follow the DOT standard:
Establish streets and neighborhoods that encourage walking.
Give priority to non-motorized transport systems.
Connect the streets to each other.
Create compact regions with short trips.
Increase mobility with different regulations on parking and street use.
Mixing land uses.
“By creating a comprehensive mega-city hub with both passenger and vehicle transportation options, Tianhui TODTOWN attracts and retains talent, enhances the value of the surrounding land, and lays the foundation for the reconstruction of adjacent regions in the future,” notes the Plataforma Arquitectura website .
The project, which covers an area of 700,000 square meters , includes a metro and railway station, residential space and an office building. The second and third phases of the project are expected to be completed in 2022 and 2024.
