The railway tunnel and underwater road project , known as the Fehmarnbelt link, has already received approval from the authorities.
According to the Plataforma Arquitectura website , the infrastructure will connect Denmark's Lolland Faster region with Germany's Schleswig Holstein territory across the Baltic Sea. This system will reduce travel time between the two countries to just ten minutes by car and seven by train .
The project, built by Femern A/S and with an investment of 7 billion euros, will have two tracks and a four- lane highway. “Statistically, the Fehmarnbelt tunnel will be fantuan database as safe to use as equivalent road or rail routes on open terrain in Denmark, shows the company's risk analysis,” the project website states.
The proposal is scheduled for completion in mid-2029 . Work on the Danish side is expected to begin early next year, while construction on the German side will begin in mid-2022.
In addition to the reduction in travel times, the construction of this infrastructure will generate a demand for professionals , such as earth and concrete workers and machine operators, among others.
To monitor the progress of the project, cameras have been placed at different strategic points that broadcast the works live .
All those professionals who wish to broaden their experience in architecture and urban planning will find a wide range of programs aimed at this purpose. FUNIBER sponsors the Master's Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning Projects . The program provides professionals with the necessary training to carry out a project in this sector.
