The long-awaited (and almost a year in the making) event at the Museum of Applied Arts was great. Lots of architects, designers, and other nice people came... including us, of course.
We invite you to take a tour, at least virtually.

The Fritz Hansen Party, attended by Danish Consul Søren Kelstrup and jamaica telemarketing a number of prominent Czech architects and designers, including Professor Jiří Pelcl, was great. Full of design. Good food and drink. Because it all simply belongs together. We are proud that the Danish company entrusted this complex and repeatedly postponed event (yes: covid, war...) to us. Do you know the history of Fritz Hansen?
History & Danish design
Guests had the opportunity to see and try out the iconic Egg™ chair by Arne Jacobsen and other design products from Fritz Hansen. What is behind the success of this traditional brand and what is its history?
The history of Danish design begins somewhere in the late 19th century, specifically in 1872, when the enterprising cabinetmaker Fritz Hansen obtained a trade license. Seven years later, the native of Nakskov opened a furniture manufacturing company in Copenhagen and employed his son Christian. In the first decades, he produced furniture for the Danish Parliament, the Supreme Court in Christiansburg Palace, the University Library, Copenhagen City Hall and other important institutions. Before the First World War, Christian began experimenting with steam bending techniques and Fritz Hansen became the world leader in pressed and laminated wood furniture. Among other things, he launched the very first Danish steel furniture and the iconic Church chair by Kaare Klint, which remained in the Fritz Hansen collection until 2004.
