Comprehensive special zone specializing in the field of home nursing care. Under the current system, if the level of care required improves, the nursing care provider's remuneration decreases, but on the other hand, a so-called success-based remuneration system is being introduced to improve quality by increasing the remuneration. We will introduce the details of these initiatives (Special feature: "Comprehensive Special Zone for Regional Revitalization: The first comprehensive special zone in the country for home nursing care"). At the just-concluded ordinary Diet session, the amendments to the Stalking Prevention Act and the Domestic Violence Prevention remove background image Act were passed and enacted. In response to a case that developed into a murder case, the regulations were strengthened, but there are many challenges to make them effective ("Strengthening stalking regulations"). In the "Interview Room," Takagi Ryo, Director of Medical Policy Department of Nara Prefecture, was interviewed. In 2006, a pregnant woman who was not accepted by 19 medical institutions in the prefecture died in the prefecture, but the prefecture has been working to improve its emergency medical system, and the acceptance rate of high-risk pregnant women in the prefecture has improved from 77.5% to 92.4%. [July 5th issue] Have you heard of "water intoxication/polydipsia"? It is hardly known outside the field of psychiatric nursing and care for the intellectually disabled, but repeated drinking of large amounts of water at once can cause excess fluid to accumulate in the body, disrupting the electrolyte balance and even leading to death. Professor Yoshihama Fumihiro of the Faculty of Health and Medical Technology at Bukkyo University writes in his editorial about this serious problem in the field. In the 31st issue of the special feature "Diversifying Nursery Schools and Management," we look at the types of subsidies that municipalities provide for the operation of licensed nursery schools, and how they are working to care for sick and recovering children, citing examples from several municipalities. "Supporting the Community" is by Viewpoint Communications Co., Ltd., which has offices in Nagoya and Gifu. They provide employment support for people with developmental disabilities, and tell their users that it is important to face themselves honestly, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and create a "personal instruction manual" as a tool to communicate this to others. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's review committee has approved the implementation of a clinical research plan for patients with intractable eye diseases using iPS cells. This is expected to be the world's first clinical study, bringing us one step closer to realizing regenerative medicine using iPS cells ("Towards the world's first clinical trial of iPS cells").
