To work well, it doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman, what matters is your desire to learn, your knowledge and your skills . Today, March 8, is the day that both men and women demand gender equality and, at Ipanema , as a marketing and communication agency that we are, we want to send you a message.

For us, fighting for gender equality is not cio and cto email lists just about going out on the street to demonstrate one day, but rather day after day in the company, where we have to show that we are all equal . We all contribute our bit and if one fails, we all fail, just as if one succeeds, we all succeed. No one is better or worse because of their beliefs, condition or gender . For us, our team is unique and untouchable and the problems of one affect us all.

On March 8, 1975, the UN institutionalized this day as International Women's Day, intended to commemorate women's struggle for their free participation in the world of work, under the same conditions as men. A struggle that unfortunately we do see as necessary in many sectors but that, in Ipanema, has never been a problem.

From the very first minute of the agency's creation, there was equality. In fact, there have always been more women than men, but because it was created that way, it was never sought. At no time was it taken into account that, if there were more men than women or more women than men, it could seem that we were sexist or chauvinistic. We only let ourselves be guided by talent.

Many times things are not sought, they just happen. So, why don't we let people's minds flow? Why don't we let men and women contribute solutions, be creative or manage a company if they deserve it? Would it be so difficult to live together without the need to belittle the work of others just because they are men or women?

For us, the meaning of a team is working together, unifying projects and moving at the same pace . It has never occurred to us to make distinctions in salaries, each person is paid according to their position, their skills and the effort they make to make everything work. We have always had the opportunity to change our schedule in case of a personal problem, to work remotely when we needed to, to report a problem or a doubt to any member of the team... In short, to find the solution together.

At Ipanema we are clear that listening, supporting, guiding and understanding are the basic foundations to guarantee our success. People are the driving force of an organization and, if they do not work together and in a good environment, without distinctions or discrimination, the engine breaks down and the company stops.

Fighting for gender equality is a good thing, but wouldn't it be better if the battle was finally over? Wouldn't it be nice to live in a world where every individual could achieve what they wanted? At Ipanema, we believe that it shouldn't be that difficult. It would be enough to simply apply a rule that we can all agree on: treat others as you would like to be treated.
