Telegram Channels and Digital Marketing: What They Are, What They're For, and How to Join Them

Telegram, the messaging app that competes with WhatsApp, has released a new update that highlights the expansion of groups. They can now reach up to 200,000 participants.

Following this news, we'll talk about Telegram channels. A feature not found on WhatsApp, but one that businesses, organizations, and users can benefit from as a communication channel and digital marketing strategy.

What are Telegram channels?
Telegram defines channels on its website as a tool used to send public messages to large audiences. When you post to a channel, that content will appear signed with the channel name, not yours.

How to find channels or create your own?
Searching for channels is very easy; just go to the magnifying glass and type the group name into the search bar. A search list will appear; you can identify channels by the megaphone icon to the right of the group name. Next, tap on the group you're interested in to view its content. If you find it interesting, simply click the Join button .



If, on the other hand, you want to create your own group, you'll need to go to the left panel (marked on the left side of the screen with three horizontal lines) and tap New Channel . You'll then be taken to a new screen where you'll need to enter the group's name and description.
