CLAUDIA’S LAW: A new law named after missing chef Claudia Lawrence which helps families take over the affairs of loved ones who have disappeared comes into effect today. ITV News has more. Her father Peter Lawrence will discuss the law at a press conference in Westminster this morning, and provide an update on the decade-long search for his daughter.
INCOMING: The independent inquiry into historic child abuse will publish a report at noon on children in the care of Nottinghamshire councils, and the response from organizations such as Nottinghamshire police and the Crown Prosecution Service. One to watch.

UNCORK THE GAUKE: Former Justice Secretary David Gauke is the latest senior Tory to consider a run for the chairmanship of the Commons Treasury committee, Yahoo Finances’s Ben Gartside reports. Gauke used to work at the Treasury and is of course an avid Remainer, which must give him half a chance of success.
