If you find out that you have subdomain backlinks in your backlink profile, you want to make sure that those backlinks meet certain criteria and that you know which backlinks are low quality so you can disavow them.

In addition to the warnings in the previous sections, here are some quality criteria you should keep handy while checking your subdomain's backlinks:

1. Content relevance
Is the backlink on the subdomain page relevant to the content of the page itself?

If you feel that the link belongs to that piece of content, then it is a good backlink and a relevant gambling database russia citation that will benefit your website.

However, if the backlink is included in a comment you didn't post, be careful—this could be a sign of negative SEO !

Or if it's inserted somewhere on the page without context, it could be an injected link through cross-site scripting . In any case, you may need to contact the webmaster to have it removed. If that doesn't work, you may need to disavow the URL entirely.

Be careful not to dismiss a backlink from a subdomain just because the page's content isn't related to your website. Sometimes linking makes sense even if the page is in a different niche.

For example, a blogger might link to a recipe page from their content marketing blog to support a point with an anecdote.
