Mercadona, Lidl and El Corte Inglés lead the way in social media presence

Retail brands have more interaction on social media than the consumer goods and automotive sectors combined. Mercadona, Lidl and El Corte Inglés are the food distribution chains with the most presence on social media platforms in Spain during the third quarter of the year, according to data from Epsilon Technologies.

The report measures the visibility and impact of the different brands on the main social networks with an average of the interaction iran email list rate, virality and interactions. In this sense, Mercadona is in the lead with a percentage of 5.48%, followed by Lidl (3.80%) and El Corte Inglés (3.35%). Meanwhile, Aldi, Eroski and Alcampo are in the last positions of this top 40 of the retail sector.

In terms of sectors, food distribution is in third place in terms of interactions, with 1.7 million , only surpassed by beauty (6.1 million) and catering (2.9 million). Fashion, DIY and home and electronics complete the list.

The global ranking of retailers is thus led by NYX Cometics, with a percentage of 10.73%, followed by PCComponentes, with 7.01%. Likewise, brands such as Ikea, AliExpress, Leroy Merlin or Primark are also some of those with the greatest presence on online social platforms.

In terms of social networks, Instagram is the one that has grown the most in terms of its own profiles , with an increase of 188% in interactions compared to the third quarter of 2018. For its part, Facebook is losing relevance, as it has experienced a 32% year-on-year decrease in interactions.
