Azure Map Update: Data-bound reference layers
In October's Power BI updates, the Azure Maps visual has been significantly improved with the addition of data-bound reference layers.
Previously, reference layers in Azure Maps were static and did not allow for conditional formatting or linking of geometries to customer business data. This limitation also impacted user interaction, as actions such as selecting, filtering, clicking, or accessing tooltips could not be performed for polygons and points, unlike other visual components.
With the new data-bound reference layers functionality, these restrictions are removed, enabling seamless integration between reference layers and customer business data. Reference layers greece telegram data can now be dynamically bound to the spatial fields used, allowing customers to visualize their business data in context with geographic or spatial elements. Users can update their visuals in real-time and interact with their data using standard Power BI features such as filtering, cross-highlighting, and tooltips, greatly improving the flexibility and interactivity of the Azure Maps visual.
Linking data from reference layers is a straightforward process. be mapped to field values in the “Location” container of the “Generate” panel, based on the name property provided in the reference layer file.
These new features make it easier to document and maintain your semantic model, ensuring that it is always up to date with the latest changes.
