Understand the possibilities for improvement

As I have already indicated, not only the bounce rate can be a good indicator for engagement, but we have to gather as many metrics as possible and relate them to each other.

Or isn't it good engagement to have 100 visits, 100 comments and 75 shares on social networks, even if we have a bounce rate of 95%?

Related to the question I asked in the previous paragraph, it is very normal that when we are comparing the traffic of a blog in Analytics, we tend to think that we have to promote the days when we have more traffic to achieve greater engagement.

Understanding the possibilities of improving traffic also means doing so based on engagement, filtering by day and seeing the days in which we have had the most comments, shares, etc. and doing so argentina mobile phone numbers database independently of the traffic and the opportunities we have in it.

Turn data into knowledge
Now that we have easier access to data, we'll have better conclusions, right?

Not necessarily, data alone is not a story, nor is it a strategy or a clear vision of objectives.

Data tells us nothing more than a number, which can be good or bad depending on our knowledge.

The ideal is to use the data and what we know to form that story that gives us the insight we need.

Ways to measure your blog engagement
Google Analytics
There are simpler and more complicated ways to track engagement with Google Analytics .

Creating events is a very simple way to do this.

There are all kinds of objectives: time on page, following a page funnel, viewing a product sheet after consulting a related article, downloads, watching a few seconds of an embedded video, etc.

As you can see, there are many different ways to do it, and they all fit our type of content or business model.

If you want to know more, I encourage you to check out this Google article where they explain very well what the possibilities of Analytics and engagement are.

While there are plugins and other content management systems that many people use to create and update their blogs, I am a huge WordPress fan and as such, my favorite is Google Analytics for WordPress by Yoast.
