Currently, she is responsible for planning and executing L'Auditori's communications campaigns, among many other tasks. She talks about this in the following interview.
After studying English Philology and completing a postgraduate degree in Publishing, you began working for Editorial Casals as Head of Rights Sales. What do you think helped you land the position?
After graduating, working in a publishing house was my dream. I'd always loved reading, and I was very clear that I didn't want to teach English in venezuela mobile database high school. So the postgraduate degree in Publishing was my springboard into the wonderful world of publishing. At Casals, I started as an intern, and after six months, I had the opportunity to combine my two passions: books and the English language, by joining the company as the Head of International Rights Sales. It was definitely a challenge for my 24 years.
What did your duties as Rights Sales Manager entail?
My goal was to have Casals' children's books published in other countries, so I primarily attended the most important industry fairs to present our titles to foreign publishers. In short, my work consisted of expanding our client base, expanding into new countries, and negotiating and monitoring transactions.
At the same time, you began training in communications and advertising management. After a few years, you made the jump to the marketing and communications department. What motivated this change?
At Casals, I combined the tasks of selling rights with being a communications manager. At first, communications took up a small portion of my work schedule, but as the publishing house grew, so did the workload, and there came a time when it was impossible to do both properly. The world of marketing and communications appealed to me greatly, so I decided to train and eventually dedicate myself to it full-time.
