Before the class action l

Post by tasnimsanika69 »

When it was announced a few months ago with great fanfare that YouTuber MrBeast was joining Prime Video to present a contest called Beast Games , everything seemed to indicate that the format was going to be a resounding success and that it would further boost the fame of its creator, who has the reputation of being the most popular YouTuber in the world with more than 316 million subscribers on YouTube.

However, during the recording of that much-hyped contest, a series of events occurred that have now led five anonymous Beast Games participants to file a class-action lawsuit against MrBeast and Amazon for suffering chronic abuse, sexual harassment , and other punishable actions from a legal point of view.

The lawsuit was filed on September 16 in Los Angeles Superior Court and refers to multiple episodes of abuse and neglect that occurred during the filming of the YouTuber's contest , where more than 1,000 participants compete for a prize of $5 million.

The complaint specifies that Beast Games has a budget of $100 million algeria whatsapp list and calls on Amazon and MrBeast to pay the plaintiffs their allegedly unpaid wages and expenses and to also order them to pay damages.

According to the class action lawsuit, Amazon and Off One's Base LLC, the production company for MrBeast, failed to pay Beast Games contestants minimum wage or overtime for filming the show, failed to prevent sexual harassment, created working conditions that inflicted significant emotional distress on contestants , failed to provide contestants with uninterrupted meal and rest breaks, and repeatedly exposed contestants to dangerous situations as a condition of continuing to compete on the show.

The plaintiffs allege, among other things, chronic abuse, sexual harassment and deprivation of medical care.
“Even though the contestants knew when they signed the contract at the beginning of production that they were facing a potentially long and challenging competition, they allege that the filming ended up being much more grueling than they expected,” the plaintiffs’ lawyers say. “Several contestants ended up hospitalized, while others suffered mental health problems from being subjected to chronic abuse and degradation and, in the case of the female contestants, hostile working conditions,” the lawyers add.

During the filming of Beast Games, contestants were reportedly deprived of medical care, food, sleep and basic hygiene . There was also reportedly a clear pattern of sexual harassment during the filming of the show, and according to an alleged MrBeast employee handbook, contestants were reportedly required to tolerate intolerable behavior (such as drawing penises on the whiteboard) in order to contribute to the success of the production and its creators. Additionally, the women who took part in the show reportedly had to deal with a clearly hostile work environment.

Before the class action lawsuit was filed against MrBeast and Amazon over the poor conditions in which the Beast Games contest was recorded , the YouTuber and the company were already publicly put in the spotlight last August for the precarious situation that the contestants had to deal with during the filming of the reality show, in which many nevertheless decided to stay in the hope of winning $5 million.

Beast Games , MrBeast's controversial new Prime Video game show, is still pending releaseand it is unknown when exactly it will land on Amazon's streaming video platform.
